There is just too much this week.
Fireworks should be an exciting celebration, but they’re scary and cause lost pets.
Camping on the river should be a pleasant summer escape, until the rains come and wash away everything.
And more floods, fires, chaos and grief.
Along with a few miracles, plenty of heroes, and the best of humankind.
This little cowdog doesn’t understand so much, but I can’t help but wonder where God is in all this?
All I know is there is peace in seeking Him, petitioning Him for help, and no hope at all without.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for His name’s sake.
Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff,
they comfort me.
