In a world where everyone seems to make up their own truth, there sure is a lot of reasons to believe there is still an absolute truth. 
In a cowdog’s world, things are straightforward. We clearly see it that way and will make it that way. Often we do things on our own terms, partly because you have to think fast and be unwavering, in our line of work.
Still, what is true becomes quite clear, there is a right way and a wrong way. There is absolute truth when I’m chasing a cow – follow the rules of method, engagement, the wisdom of lessons learned, then I succeed and the bovine goes where she’s supposed to.
Make it up as I please, launch off in selfish ideas, and decide I can have my own version of “truth”, and cow hooves will likely set me straight by kicks, cuts and fracture!
People nowadays seem to think you can make up truth and facts that personally suit you.
Fact is, there is absolute truth, and it is not a movable goo as slippery as Spring thaw.
Just because you make a statement that serves a personal desire, does not make it true. Screaming, cussing, tantrums – doesn’t make you right, and others do not need to buy into your personal lie.
Sooner or later there are consequences for making up your own truth.
Around here, the lakes and rivers freeze over. As winter wears on, the ice thickens, and many places you can walk or even drive on it.
But know the truth. An easy winter, and there are places where the ice is not thick enough. I hear people drive out on lakes and, sometimes, fall through. Now, they could “decide” the ice was solid, but their “truth” did not make it true.
Seek and follow real truth and there is a wide open world in which to enjoy your success. Don’t follow it, insist on ramming through your own way, and drown. Seems like right now, you can just say what you want and that makes it so. At least for politicians, bureaucrats and celebrities.
If everyone would practice real truth, not their own version, we can right this capsized world.

And that is still the truth.
