Cowdogs Advice

Every week I come here to express my opinions and advise the world to be stronger, better, of higher character and integrity – more like a Heeler in other words.

Usually early Thursday morning, here I am to talk about the weather, share happenings in my country, opine about cats, ranchers, trucks, or cows.

I’m pretty cocksure about running the country, having John Wayne values, standing for the Red, White and Blue, and kneeling before the cross.

I know we have a manual for living a great life, called the Bible.

I do my best to show mercy and kindness to all.

Well, except those out-there crazies, bent on destroying everything that is right and good.

And now I have a real problem with this thing called AI.

Now this is something to do with computers, and not to be confused with what us country folk know as AI – artificial insemination, although perhaps there really isn’t much difference!

No, this is a simulation of good old human brain intelligence by machines. This apparently means those infernal computers can learn from experience, adapt to new info, and perform tasks reserved for human cognitive function – like understanding language or making decisions.

Sounds like something any good dog can do too!

I hear it will analyze huge amounts of data, identify patterns and use this to predict and make decisions. Well I do that!

It can automate repetitive tasks, for increased efficiency. I’ll admit I may not be able to apply this to manufacturing, but my skills outshine any old computer when it comes to such tasks around here. And some would say a Heeler’s customer service is the best!

That computer can do silly things like copy human language; but they have nothing like the Coyote yip-yaps, Wolf howls and Dingo cussing – that stunning symphony of impossible sounds that is Heeler-speak! Something Google Translate and Alexa just don’t get!

Interpret and understand visual information? I may not magically drive a car or help medical imaging, but this old cowdog can sure ‘nuf understand and apply everything I see around here, and especially what I get through “the stare”.

Create new text, images or music based on learned patterns? Oh please, us cowdogs are always building on what we know, sometimes ‘way ahead of what our people even understand!

Healthcare – a dogs presence is as healing.

I can detect fraud and will protect everything that belongs to the boss and the ranch – truck, purse, wallet, and easily detect shady characters.

No self-driving car will ever be as great a ride as an old truck with plenty of co-pilots!

And why would you need suggestions from a streaming service on what to watch, when the bold shedder who is hogging the couch will let you know what you want to watch?

And the pictures being made are truly a joke – phony looking dogs with fake smiles and two tails! A real canine wins every time!

Of course it is known that anything developed by man and meant for good, will be turned into something evil too.

So better to avoid AI and just cuddle up with a Heeler or a whole pack. You know we are smarter, and a lot more fun!

The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.
                                                                                                                                                     Proverbs 16:9

Welcome!

I am Ladysmith, a Blue Heeler. I live in central Montana with the people I rescued; my dad, a crusty old cowboy who swore he would never have another dog last time, but has been completely smitten by me ever since we met. My mom, a kind writer and artist, who knows I am a angel sent from heaven, and helps me with this endeavor.
